- 1967
- At last I achieved a longtime wish and removed to the
North Norfolk coast
1990
I retired early, intending to do all the things that earning a
living had denied me. Serious illness decided otherwise
- Freshwater Fishing
- I had followed this hobby since the age of 4years when I
visited a locale lake in London with my father. The peace
and tranquillity of an early morning visit to a spot in
lovely surroundings, with the prospect of a good catch
was sufficient to keep my enthusiasm for over 60 years.
- Reading
- The relaxation from everyday life brought about from
literature is something that no child should miss. Whether
this is Agatha Christie and perhaps her staid Miss Marple
or a travel book enabling you to visit a place that is
just a dot on a map. For a youngster, how about "Wind
in the Willows" or "Alice through the Looking
Glass".
- Pre- 1960 films
- I spent my youth in a period when the cinema was king.
Not the cinema of gratuitous violence, but of films that
even now hold their place amongst the most memorable, Try
"Gone with the Wind", "Stagecoach" or
the renowned British farces like "Arsenic and Old
Lace".
